One of the nicer parks in the Metro-Detroit area. The trails are well marked & maintained, and they wind through forests and prairie areas along the upper branch of the Rouge River. The sledding hill is great for kids in the winter, and the splash-pad and playground areas are fun for younger kids in the summer.
Loved the overall experience. It has good amount of trails to explore. We can spend a whole day in the park exploring all the trails. You can take the longer routes if you have the time and shorter trails if you are with kids and want them to experience the trail experiences.
Love this park!! Great events take place. Adorable historical buildings. Miles of great, well kept trails (although there are parts that can flood). Many deer to be seen as well! They have an awesome nature center and trail for kids as well as an archery range.
Heritage Park is a peaceful haven with winding trails, shaded forests, and a splash pad that delights kids all summer long. Whether you’re hiking or just enjoying the fresh air, it feels like a quiet getaway without ever leaving the city.
