Confirmed from Heritage trail greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Roughly 1.5 miles from one end to the other with 2 road crossings. Partly shaded, mostly packed down, with good but not extreme hills. Would recommend for all level of walkers/hikers

Last Saturday my wife and I (and Squirt) did a 3 mile out and back walk on this greenway in Newton, NC. It is a VERY WELL maintained and marked trail to walk through the woods and by a water stream for nice scenery. The town of Newton has a right to be proud of this greenway! 👍♥️

One of the best trails in hickory. It's great to walk your dog or to do an evening stroll. It's a simple walk with some nature and the creek most of the trails. My dog enjoyed the squirrels in the area. In addition, the trail is cleared and paved for most parts.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 8 mentions

“Very walkable since it's mostly paved and pet friendly with dog bags every so often.”
