Confirmed from Hidalgo County Precinct 2 Hike & Bike Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Love the safety of this trail! Very well lit, and law enforcement presence during peak hours. Although water does accumulate under 2 of the tunnels when it rains, I'm sure they'll resolve that soon. Either way, safe place to run, walk and cycle.

Went on an early morning bike ride with a friend. I was really impressed with the network and how well laid out it is. It is also very clean and well kept. Seeing everyone out there walking, jogging or riding their bike was great to see. I will definitely be coming back as often as I can.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

💡 Lit for night running 7 mentions

“It’s and wonderful place to hike and bike it’s fully lit up and noticed that they have cameras all along the trail to give you that sense of comfort while being alone.”
