Confirmed from Horn Pond Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 9 mentions

“Horn Pond Recreation Area is a peaceful lakeside park that’s perfect for walking, jogging, and unwinding in nature.”

This is a loop trail with wide paved paths. Branching off are many smaller dirt footpaths leading to the water or up into the hills. It's an easy stroll with ample benches along the way for enjoying the beautiful views, watching the waterfowl, or resting. Near the water plant is a path which is quite steep.

Beautiful gorgeous park. Very peaceful and quiet, a full walk around the whole lake takes about 1 hour so keep that in mind. Lots of pretty spot to take pictures or sit and enjoy the sunset/sunrise. Plenty of ducks and geese too if you like to look at birds!

★★★★★ — Jessica , Dec 2023

So many hidden hiking trails with tranquil views to explore. Great for both young and mature adults. Be on the lookout for deers, fawns, plenty of goslings and ducks. Plenty of birds for photography enthusiasts and fishing. Be sure to bring plenty of water, bug repellent, wear proper footwear and a sun hat.

This place is perfect for walking or jogging. It is safe and clean. A lot of interesting wildlife around including the human kind :-) Concerts are common at the pond especially during the summer months. There is NO swimming in this pond but fishing and boating/kayaking/paddle boarding is allowed.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
