Confirmed from Idylwood Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Idylwood Park
“Idyl wood park is a nice and beautiful place for kids and athletic for practice 😄”
“When it's not bustling with soccer and baseball practices, it's very quiet and great for working out all the kid energy.”
“Nice paved path, perfect loop for dog walking.”
This park is a fantastic place to spend some time outdoors. It is one that I am my family frequent on a regular basis. The park is bordered on one side by the W&OD trail and Interstate 66. The park has multiple baseball diamonds that are used frequently by local leagues.
Nice community playground with equipment suitable for toddlers to grade schoolers next to a little league field and soccer pitch. Good parking and access to the local bike trail. Accessible porta potty by the parking lot.
The parking is near W/OD trail. The soccer and baseball fields are well maintained. Tennis courts are mostly vacant. It would have been great it there was drinking water and a public restroom.
Decent park. Never crowded when I go, but I'm sure it's different when youth athletics are happening. Nice paved path, perfect loop for dog walking. Though part of it is on the W&OD...be careful those cyclists show no mercy! Also the cops hang out at the entrance looking for speeders on Virginia Lane. Trust me on this.
Trail conditions & character
“There is a walking trail through the middle of the park that runs from the parking lot past the baseball diamonds, past the basketball court, and to the W&OD.”
“It appears there is one porta-potty, though, so go before you leave the house!”

- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
