Confirmed from James Way Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed trails to walk pets and kids through a preserved oak forest.
What runners say about James Way Park
“Absolutely beautiful oak preserve with abundant hiking trails and a variety of flora.”
I live close by and walk this pak a lot. It is my favorite. It is just hilly enough that I feel a good bit of exercise without feeling like I have climbed a mountain. It really is perfect, so many oaks, it almost feels like I am away camping, or back before CA was so developed!
For being so close and so accessible these trails are great. There are different loops and choices and I have seen a family of deer on occasion. I go here four or five times a week, and enjoy each and every trip.
This is a wonderful park to take a stroll through. The trails are well groomed, and the mountain feel is great. We saw happy children and happy dogs. Just remember to take everything out with you.
Peaceful trails and great scenery, located conveniently just off James Way in Arroyo Grande. You can get a good cardio workout or a nice leisure walk
