We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Joe's Trail at Cox and de Anza yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Joe's Trail at Cox and de Anza
Joe's trail is a very nice walk, walk your dog, run or bike ride. It was built after Joe Sanfilippo passed away. The story goes he loved walking along the railroad tracks and when he passed he had left money to build the trail and put in the 2 bridges. Enjoy this wonderful trail.
A quiet trail for 0.6 miles from De Anza Blvd along beside the railway track until it "dead-ends". But, don't let that fool you - everyone then walks on the rough ground alongside the rail tracks to Cox Rd. Do the same on the other side of Cox and you can take the second part of Joe's Trail to Saratoga Avenue.
Nice bike ride in the evenings for me 2.2 miles round trip from my house. For more fun I ride across Cox avenue all the way to Saratoga Avenue. For a longer ride cross Deanza blvd and ride to Deanza college.
Biked with family member here very often in last summer. The trail is clean and well maintained. Will need mountain bike on this trail. Please bike with a companion for increased security.
