Confirmed from John Ward Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Traditional waterside park offering a children's playground, splash pad, ducks & picnic tables.

One of the first parks I've walked in Amarillo and let me tell you, it's beautiful!! It has the best of both worlds, plenty of sun and plenty of shade! This is important to me because I have lupus and can not be in direct sunlight for a long length of time.
Wonderful park within walking distance of most medical center buildings and a few of the hotels in the area. We really enjoyed our walk here, totaling just about 1.7 miles for the full loop.
Visited 3.9.2025...Beautiful place to walk around and get exercise. There are lots of Geese and Ducks in the lake.
