Confirmed from Jones Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park near a harbor, featuring a beach and a marina, plus a light show.
What runners say about Jones Park
“The park was beautiful and appeared well maintained other than the restrooms (needed cleaned & no soap dispensers).”
“View of the water, beach, marina, boats, the harbor, the GP Lighthouse, Downtown, The Aquarium, the old Library, the stunning lighted Sky Bridge, and Beach Boulevard.”
“A great place to go for walks, jog, relax in shade with family and friends, picnic, go fishing along the piers, take your kids to the water park or walk your dogs.”
Huge park adjacent to the marina, the beach, the aquarium, and a few blocks from downtown. It's very peaceful and beautifully maintained. The walking "track" is about 1 mile around, so it's perfect for fitness, but I also enjoy going there to just hang out.
Nice park with big walking path, play ground, splash pad, Marina and great view of the ocean. The park was beautiful and appeared well maintained other than the restrooms (needed cleaned & no soap dispensers). Also, it is right next to the bus / trolley stop if you need public transportation.
There's always something to do at Jones Park. You can walk the path throughout the park along the way they do have benches and places to do different exercises. There's a bridge that crosses over to the aquarium walking that bridge just to see the view from higher above highway 90 is very worth it.
We love Jones Park! It has a fun play area for children and a walking trail with exercise equipment at different points. We feed the ducks and watch the different boats go by. The Christmas lights are a great family attraction!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
