Confirmed from Kimball Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Sprawling green space offering playgrounds, a skate park and baseball diamonds for picnics as well as walks, bike rides and dog-walking.

What runners say about Kimball Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (2,071 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“We went to the kimball winter event so much fun and me and my family love this park clean and so spacious for my kids to play”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“I believe it was a older 34 to 37 Chevy pickup, very light green mint type color, beautiful truck I was hoping to see it again, maybe next year !”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Otherwise, one of the best attractions to this park is enjoying the shade during a hot sunny afternoon and feeling the coolness of the air breeze through the hilltop.”

Big park with lots of space for kids to run around or to have a picnic. It's a good place to get in some running or walking, only thing is there are a few transients and the knuckle heads who like to smoke by the stairs.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 6 mentions

“This park hosts two baseball fields, skate park, basketball, playground, public restrooms, picnic tables, dog park, and plenty of parking.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
