Confirmed from Kinnikinnick Creek Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is a park that turns out to be quite extensive in trails. There are horse and hiking trails. There is various landscapes, including bluffs along the creek. The only thing that could be better is if some of the trails were better kept up.

Nice trails, dogs on leash, some horse trails too. I think they close in the winter but well maintained

★★★★★ — Amanda , Jan 2023

The other review that said this place was underutilized is not kidding. Sat there for almost an hour and didn't see another person. Sounded like there were other people driving in or out they just weren't coming into the section where I was.

★★★★★ — Donald , Sep 2022

Highly recommend going through some of the trails in mid-October. The colors are incredible and it's amazing to see relatively undisturbed nature in this area. I prefer coming here rather than going to Rock Cut when I need some time away from people.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 9 mentions

“70 miles trail to get to the highest point, make sure to get the poop bags at the beginning of the trail because that is the only spot they have dog poop bags.”
