Confirmed from Kresson Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Area featuring many trails for hiking and biking, as well as scenic views.
What runners say about Kresson Trails
“Recommended for an easy walk with shade throughout.”
This place is best visited in spring or summer, when the different areas truly look different. In the fall or winter, it's nothing special. But there is some good variety.
It's a cute little walking path the middle of a busier suburb. Basically a winding trail that loops back and forth and gives you about a mile of walking overall. I wouldn't really even call it hiking, more like a short dog walking path or short woods path.
The trails here are nice with many options for shorter or longer loops. Trails are clear and marked at key points. There is a small stream that runs on one side of the trail system. Roads are on two sides of the hiking area so you will hear cars part of the time.
Very nice trails. You can see that they are popular with bikes, but it was great for hiking. Felt deep in the woods when you were never that far. A currently crazy colored stream runs through the area also. Nice gravel lot for parking. No bathroom.
Trail conditions & character
“The parking lot is easy to access with about a dozen or more spots.”
“I wouldn't really even call it hiking, more like a short dog walking path or short woods path.”
“Very nice, went hiking with family, beautiful view.”
“Often muddy after rains and snow due to creeks and marshes.”
“Overall, a great small hiking area with up to 2 miles of trail if you piece them together into the largest loop possible from the parking lot.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
