Confirmed from Lake of the Woods Bike Path's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Lake of the Woods Bike Path
“It's absolutely beautiful out here.”
“3 miles, this paved path through the Forrest preserve is great for walking, jogging or bicycles.”
Nice bike path through the prairie part of Lake of the Woods. One big hill in the middle, the rest mostly level. The west ends of the path is a dead end, so you have to go back the same way, or continue on a country road and take a narrow bridge over the interstate to get back to Mahomet.
It's absolutely beautiful out here. I stayed on the paved path because the others weren't all visibly marked. But I would also note that the paved path doesn't circle around - once you hit the end, you have to turn around and go back -- so you're still getting over 2 miles in.
At about 3.3 miles, this paved path through the Forrest preserve is great for walking, jogging or bicycles. There are other unpaved trails in the preserve as well.
Beautiful area and nice trails. Only 1 mile of paved path though. Also no grills to cook on. Otherwise everything is awesome!

“Really like this place very well kept and convenient, only issue is 5 mile route could be better marked in both directions.”
