Confirmed from Lake Waconia Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Picnicking, grilling, and other recreational activities are available at this beach park.
What runners say about Lake Waconia Regional Park
“Nice easy beach access for picking up friends as well as clean facilities and bathrooms.”
“small yet a beautiful Beach Love the Sunsets here … they are building some restrooms and shelters .”
“A quiet and serene lake located on the outskirts of the western Minneapolis suburbs.”
Winter hikes from the mainland across the frozen lake to Lake Waconia Regional Park. The trails were traversable and fun to explore. There are remnants from when this island once had homes and a hotel! Several brick walls, and fences are still present.
Great place to run the pooch in the off season! Lots of room to run. As of 1/5/24 there is about 5.5" of good ice at least 100' out from shore.
Usually pretty nice. Bring an umbrella if you want any shade because there's isn't much around here!
