Confirmed from Larz Anderson Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Larz Anderson Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,371 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 17 mentions

“Can't believe beautiful place like this was close to my apartment for this long.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Gorgeous views of the city and the most peaceful, serene atmosphere.”

This place is beautiful. Bodies of water, variety of trees, pavilions with areas to grill, trees to climb, beautiful architecture to look and sit on, plenty of benches to sit on, bridges to cross, fields to run around in, baseball fields to hit things. High lands, low lands. It’s A magical place

Cool place definitely go here. Nice for a stroll, good ballfield, ice skating rink. Check out the bicycles and cars in the auto museum if it's open! Sadly inaccessible by public transportation, biking, or walking, as it is thronged by high speed roads and fences for acres on every side, but bikeable if you're willing…

A great location for an engagement session! I'm a wedding photographer and enjoyed Larz Anderson Park with one of my couples for an hour or so during a fall day. Once you figure out how to park (it was tricky for us because of construction), you have tons of areas to walk around and explore.

A sprawling former estate turned into a beautiful public park. Wonderful outdoor skating rink, sledding hill, dogs are allowed off leash for long hours with acres and acres to run. Amazing views of Boston.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
