Confirmed from Leelanau Trail Cherry Bend Rd Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Wonderful paved and marked trail through the beautiful countryside of Leelanau. Just be aware you will have to cross road but not heavily trafficked. The trailhead has air and tools to fix bikes, loved the ride!

I love biking on this trail! The entire trail is paved which makes it great for using road bike. It is 17 miles long and features beautiful woodlands, cherry and grape orchards, and rolling hills in the distance. I try to bike here every summer during my annual Traverse City trip! Have made lots of good memories here.

Great access to trails. Ample parking and a pot-o-john. Wish there was water available.

★★★★★ — Mark , Jul 2021

This trailhead has a decent number of parking spots that gets you just out of Traverse City and onto this paved trail. The trail takes you through wooded areas and farmland to Sutton Bay. There are a number of portable bathrooms which was nice to see along a trail. Please don’t expect the cars to slow or stop for you.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
