Confirmed from LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Tranquil nature area with meadows and walking paths, plus lots of birdlife and wildflowers.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“However, in the grassland, it isn’t as well kept (at least when I went in the summer) so wear long pants to avoid cuts from shrubbery.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“One of the most beautiful and spacious nature preserves I've ever been to!”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“And if you’re quiet at the right time of day, you can hear the bees working!”

I've drove past this park numerous of times and this time I had some of my video equipment soni decided to stop. There isn't much parking; which is crazy seeing how huge this nature area is. The hill right behind the parking spaces (if you pull in) gives a great arrival view.

Maps doesn’t show parking but there is a small lot that fits 3 cars right by a trailhead. In the forest the trail is very easy to walk through with wood walkways where it’s muddy. However, in the grassland, it isn’t as well kept (at least when I went in the summer) so wear long pants to avoid cuts from shrubbery.

Looks like they cut some new trails since I was last here... Great place for a nature walk!

Beautiful preserve. Went there to geocache and there were a couple nicely hidden caches. Overall well tended paths. Will note that there is limited signage, so good to take a picture of the map as you enter to have an idea where you are at on the trails.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
