Confirmed from Line Creek Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

“Great trail for walking, running, and bike rides.”

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

“A nice wide cement sidewalk with trees providing partial shade on one side and a cold water creek with some fun geological features (including a small falls) on the other.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“The waterfall is peaceful and fun to play around it.”

One of my favorite places to walk year round. If you’ve not been out this winter to see it frozen, you’re missing out. This winter wonderland is “otherworldly”. The best place to see waterfalls is at the Community Center Entrance on Waukomis — just across from the Elementary School.

This concrete paved trail is the best in the KC Metro. The fact that it runs from the MO riverfront/Argosy Casino north to 152 Hiway is great, but near its southern terminus it connects to the MO Riverfront Trail which leads to English Landing Park & downtown Parkville.

Nice urban area to get some exercise on a paved trail plenty of parking not far from I-29, waterfalls! Recreational center as well in the area and a mini train one can ride when running. Good for kids, hard on the ears.

★★★★★ — Uncle , Mar 2021

Great trail for walking, running, and bike rides. There are many places to pull off and enjoy the view. Dog friendly also just bring and use your leash.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
