We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Little Sandy Pond yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park offering picnic areas, trails, a splash pad, and a playground.
What runners say about Little Sandy Pond
“Beautiful pond my dog Jack loves hiking and swimming here.”
Great for families, this park has it all. Walking paths with a (somewhat outdated) fitness trail, basketball and tennis courts, a baseball field, public bathrooms and Sandy Pond. The pond is the highlight of the park to me; it's clear, it's clean, and it's right off the walking trails.
A nice, clean park with ball fields, picnic tables, a playground, a pond, turtles, trails, and an adjacent dog park. There is a sandy beach at the pond and there is no fee for parking or usage. Dogs are permitted there in the fall and winter and on the trails year 'round.
I took my family here for a visit to playground. There is more than that here. Walking trail down to Sandy Pond. Dog park is before the playground. There is tennis court, basketball court and picinic tables. There also is public bathroom. Overall we spent a morning and afternoon exploring and playing.
Good place to go for a nature walk. You can also bring the kids to swim, and grill lunch on the built in grills.
