Confirmed from Lookout Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
City park including shaded trails, a playground, athletic fields & other amenities.
What runners say about Lookout Park
“The small kids playground is well maintained and the whole park is very cared for and safe during the day.”
“Great part, good space for kids to run around with pets… I gave it 4 stars because of the neighborhood, right behind it.”
Great multi-use paths, a nature walk and a playground for the kids. Depending on the time of year, when the trees are turning it is hard to believe you are simply in Richardson.
It is a well-kept city park with a small playground with a variety of modern playground equipment in good condition: slides, a 4-person unique seesaw, giant spinning platform with climbing ropes. There are a few grills and picnic tables for general use and a covered pavilion.
What a unique and fun park!! There are all kinds of fun things to play on that you don't see on other playgrounds. There are swings, lots of things to climb, a seesaw, and a climbing merry go round! The parking lot is off of a dead end road and a round a bout.
This is a great park! Walking trails, soccer fields, a playground for the kiddos, plenty of room for pets, covered picnic tables, and public restrooms. My friend and I have been visiting different parks to walk in the mornings with her kiddos, and this one was great.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
