Confirmed from Lucy Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“Lucy Park stands as a cherished oasis, providing a peaceful retreat for locals and a delightful destination for anyone seeking a connection with nature in an urban setting.”

I spend a great deal of time walking all the trails here with my fur buddy. When I first moved to WF people warned me about shady characters around there that can hang out. Honestly I have more at other places in town and all the people I have encountered have been nice and pleasant.

Watch video for more info. Signage not great. Tons of walking paths. The falls is a fun little walk about a mile. Goose and duck pond is hubbys favorite. Rope bridge my fave.

Beautiful and spacious park. There wasn’t many visitors when we were there. Plenty of picnic areas and paved walking trails. It’s well maintained.

★★★★★ — C , Oct 2024

Lucy Park is a hidden gem in Wichita Falls — peaceful, spacious, and full of charm. Whether you’re looking to take a quiet walk along the trails, enjoy a picnic by the river, or let the kids run wild on the playground, this park has something for everyone.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
