Confirmed from MacArthur Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Well-kept park offering a playground covered for rainy days, walking paths, baseball fields and tennis courts.
What runners say about MacArthur Park
“Well it is a safe and well maintained park and there is a track which has been extended so you can walk or jog and even walk your four legged friend.”
“Absolutely the most beautiful environment for children to be learning.”
“It's the perfect spot to run or walk.”
As a retired senior citizen I love going to MacArthur park to work out at 6:00am But one thing I dislike about this park is that there are no recycling bins at all. So what I do is walk around picking up recyclable material and bring what I can home and dispose it at my housing recycling dumpster. ♻
Well it is a safe and well maintained park and there is a track which has been extended so you can walk or jog and even walk your four legged friend. Go place for kids because the playground is nice and clean as well.....
A nice community park. Baseball fields, tennis courts. A wonderful playground for the kids. A pool, walking trail. The park seems to be a central location to Binghamton southsiders, right next to MacArthur Elementary.
Perfect little hill for sledding. The short walking loop is just right for walking with kiddos, you can see all the way around if your little ones ride ahead on bikes. The covered playground is fantastic for rainy days too!
Trail conditions & character
“One time in the winter a lady let go of her dog, biting me and making me slip on some ice.”
“Bathroom facilities along the path, they look brand new but they are NEVER open, use bathroom before you come!”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
