This week there was an archaeology dig at Macktown. I was able to participate in the dig, and learned more about the people who used to reside there. The people who run the program are fantastic to be around because they are well educated and chock full of information about Macktown.
Beautiful scenery and my kids loved learning about the history of Hononegah and Stephen Mack! There’s always awesome events going on and beautiful trails to walk on. If you want to learn some local history while at a beautiful forest preserve- this is the place :)
Beautiful place to walk ,enjoy nature, play a round of golf. Very historic Winnebago county site.
