Confirmed from McCarthy Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Clean place. Has small play area for kids, slide and climbing items. The grass is kept up. Trees everywhere. Walking paths that consist of grass, dirt, through wooded areas, gravel and paved. The creek that runs through it has fish. It has a shelter, picnic tables, and a place to grill out. Fish close enough to touch.

We are staying locally from out of state for the weekend and decided to take the 2 boys to the park. It has 2 nice smaller playgrounds, in a wooded area. Has some trails you can walk. Was quiet and clean, they keep up on it nicely. Great place to escape from the hotel for a couple hours.

★★★★★ — Kris , Jun 2022

Lovely little park. There are two playsets, one at street level and one down the hill. The street level playground is well suited for younger children and has rubber playground matting around it, and a bench. It is also fully shaded. Down the hill the playset is for older kids. There is a fun standalone slide.

★★★★☆ — Abby , Apr 2025

Very nice little park. You wouldn't notice it if you didn't stop the frontage makes it look small. There are restrooms, water fountains, shelter house, picnic table, several kids play equipment and plenty of trails including a bridge over a small stream.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
