Confirmed from McHose Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
City park with disc golf, tennis courts, a skate park and swimming pools.
What runners say about McHose Park
“Great rate and clean facility to use with kids park with play equipment not far away.”
“Beautiful and scenic, lots of trails for hiking and biking, nice playground, definitely a must see in Boone!”
Decent size park to go for a walk, have a picnic, and get a history lesson as well.
This is one of the finest, scratch that, the finest, city parks I have ever been to in my life. There is so much area available for hiking, biking, and different playground equipment. There is also the Boone Municipal Pool, adjacent ice skating and equestrian areas.
It's a great place for the whole family. Picnic areas, tennis courts, baseball field, and three different play grounds. One in particular designed for small children which is great. Lots of great places to walk and explore in the woods. Also the Boone pool is located here which we frequent often in the summer.
Pretty clean, but the dog... apparatuses were a bit worn. Plenty of shade and seating. Two differ areas which was super nice

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
