Confirmed from Menomonee River Parkway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Strip of green space with walking & cycling trails in scenic surrounds with river views & wildlife.
What runners say about Menomonee River Parkway
“Beautiful walk with river access for my dogs & some awesome features like this lean-to that isn't much worse than a couple places I lived while fixing them up!”
Walking, running, cycling on a paved path, or on a trail through the woods along the river. There are several parks and playgrounds, most with restrooms, and Hoyt Park has a pool. Dog parks are just west of Mayfair Rd.
I was strolling by the asphalt path on the Menomonee River Parkway, and I couldn’t help but take a couple of pictures and enjoy the serene area surrounding it. It’s a perfect place to take a quiet walk and contemplate your existence.
Let's go for a walk and enjoy nature. The snow makes things look a little better. It's also nice to walk and go for a bike ride during the Spring 🌼, Summer 🌞 and Autumn 🍁 time. Relax as you can hear different birds chirping and even see some running water.
Our family has used this trail for 40+ years and it’s a favorite. You can easily park on the street or there’s parking at Webster Park, which has a nice playground and is also an entrance. You can stay on the paved path or there are several side paths along the river that are woodsy and more adventurous.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
