Confirmed from Meridian Bridge Plaza's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Peaceful park with picnic tables featuring a bridge and benches, plus fireworks displays.
What runners say about Meridian Bridge Plaza
“Scenic walk… it’s a historic double decker pedestrian bridge which used to connect north south route to Canada and Mexico.”
Beautiful scenic experience of a historical piece of Yankton. Take time to read the historical boards and take in the view. See if you can spot the school of fish for yourself. Start at either end and you can say that you walked from Nebraska to South Dakota. On top of all this, it all Free!
Great place to walk, also a lot of interesting views from the different levels of the bridge.
Great walk, upper and lower bridge. Nice view of the river. There are paddle locks along the bridge sides.
We love to walk this bridge when we come to Yankton. It's nice because you can walk the bottom one way and the top back. Or if it's super hot we stay on the bottom. Kid love looking at all the locks. We missed having the book to read along the way this year though.
