Confirmed from Mike Wood Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

well-maintained 8 mentions

“Multiple playgrounds, very clean, and it felt very safe.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Beautiful hidden park nestled behind a very nice quiet neighborhood, adjacent to Barksdale A.”

This park is absolutely beautiful! Very big and spacious, has multiple activities from the swimming pool, to basketball court, tennis court, playgrounds for the kids, plenty of pavilions and bbq grills. There is also disc golf set up throughout the park.

***EDITED*** So between the first time I left the park it was in need of straightening up but that was DEFINITELY not the case during our visit!!! The park was well manicured and clean. Nice clean equipment for the kiddos and plenty of seating and private areas if you want or big open pavilions.

Beautiful hidden park nestled behind a very nice quiet neighborhood, adjacent to Barksdale A.F.B at the end of the runway...very exciting to watch the jets take-off and land frequently.

★★★★★ — Donovan , Jul 2022

This is a beautiful neighborhood park! It has a great walking path with workout stations all along the path. Great for anyone teen to older. And an outstanding play area for little ones. Lovely landscape, beautiful mature pecan trees.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 10 mentions

“15 minutes of every hour they have the children get out and rest, use restroom or visit the snack bar (very affordable snacks & drinks).”

🏞️ Scenic views 6 mentions

“As for myself, as an aviation photographer, it's a great location to view the B-52s flying out of Barksdale AFB when they take off to the southeast.”

🛣️ Paved surface 5 mentions

“Most adults are with their children so for 15 minutes the pool is basically empty with every one sitting around it on hot concrete.”

🚰 Water fountains 2 mentions

“And the biggest thing is the fact that ALL of the water fountains worked, which was my only complaint last review.”
