Confirmed from Morgan Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a public restroom and picnic tables, plus fishing and a walkway over the Hudson.
What runners say about Morgan Lake Park
“Great place to enjoy the park, access to the Empire State Trail and cross the beautiful Hudson River.”
“A peaceful walk down this road can lead you to a relaxing, stress releasing and yet an awesome breath taking view in the evening as well.”
This is one of Poughkeepsie's hidden gems. It connects to the Dutchess Rail Trail!
It's a great spot my only gripe is the sheer amount of wasted potential. The town of poughkeepsie has no problem having police there handing out speeding tickets, but can't maintain anything properly besides cutting grass. Most commonly used by non locals to run for 20 minutes, and they're gone.
There's no playground but a nice amount of water for fishing, pictures, bike rides and walks. I didn't see restrooms but can always go in the woods. Very animal friendly just be mindful of the fishermen/ women.
Small lake. There's little parking at the lake, but you can use the rail trail lot near by. The fishing was ok. The lake is very weedy. Easy access to the water. Good for kids. Recommend.
