Confirmed from Nixa Dog Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Nixa Dog Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (45 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“(I'm guessing this is a nice person hinting to others that it's their responsibility to clean up after their pet) Still the poop piles are all around 🤢”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Lots of running room and in the summer those trees are going to provide so much needed shade!”

🐕 dog-walking favorite 4 mentions

“So far all the people and dogs we've met have been friendly.”

What a great park! Lots of running room and in the summer those trees are going to provide so much needed shade! and my dog loves to bark at the cows!

★★★★★ — R , Nov 2021

Much nicer than Cruse dog park in Springfield. There's a few benches and shade trees. They need to install some water fountains and a port a potty would be helpful. So far all the people and dogs we've met have been friendly. Hercules gives it 2 paws up.

★★★★☆ — Treina , Jan 2022

Nice place and a good place to let the dogs run around. Of course a few people who don't pick up their dog shit ruin it for everyone else. But other than that it's great.

★★★★☆ — Bryon , Oct 2024

Nice place to hang out with the pups... Not alot of shade in the summer, just remember to bring water...

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 36 mentions

“Honestly haven't been to many dog parks, but this one seemed quite nice even compared to ones I've seen on tv!”
