Confirmed from North Redondo Beach Bike Path's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about North Redondo Beach Bike Path
“Great trail for walking, jogging or walking your dog.”
North Redondo Beach Bike Path is under Construction on the southern portion. Beautiful ride and you get a really good breeze from the ocean, right down the street!
This is a short bike path rolling through two neighborhoods of North Redondo under buzzing and crackling high voltage electricity transmission lines. Its a very smooth concrete surface that makes frequent asphalt street crossings.
This is by far my favorite paved bike trail, I’m from PA and travel to LA once a year for a week stay at Redondo Beach Hotel and this bike trail is always on my “Things To Do” list. Stop at Perry’s near Santa Monica Pier for a Burito, then pedal back to Redondo, shower, nap and then Captain Kidds for a fish dinner.
Great trail for walking, jogging or walking your dog. But for me, it is not that great to ride bikes. Too many streets cross the path and you need to slow or stop to watch for traffic. So for bike riding, just head to the beach.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
