Confirmed from Northwoods Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Northwoods Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (263 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“The playground turf seems pretty sound, but unfortunately several people have eaten sunflower seeds in shell around and the turf could use a vacuuming or leaf blower to clean it.”

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

“We also love the covered aspect of the main play area; it helps to shade it bit for those super hot, and even drizzley days.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“This all abilities park is a little old/worn, but still fun for kids.”

This is an amazingly accessible playground designed in conjunction with courage Kenny Institute. Those with wheelchairs or Walkers will be pleased to be able to access upper and lower levels. Parents can easily accompany young children throughout. Nearest parking is on the south Side off 107th Avenue.

This is our favorite playground around! The all inclusiveness of it, with all of the ramps, makes is such a unique playground. The lack of sand/woodchips makes it easy on barefoot kids.

Playing baseball as a youth brings back so many great memories of me playing there.I owe a lot to the city of BP for the great time in my youth playing baseball around town always had the best fields.and for the path my career took off within the Great city of Brooklyn pk, MN

The lack of sand plus the asking if shade makes it a go to for families with younger kids. The bathrooms and water fountain are a plus especially on hot days. A sizeable playground but it only has a few swings. Nice green area to run and play.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
