Confirmed from Opacum Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Opacum Woods
Not the most kept up witb trail, but is good for a walk in the woods. Just wear boots and long pants (I saw poison ivy along the trail)
The trails are very well groomed. I saw a lot of wildlife. Lightly trafficked, saw one person with a dog on a leash. Features a small pond, not much of the trail is close to it through. I saw 2 beavers & they let me get super close. Somehow not scared much of me, it was really cool!
We love hiking all these trails here. (Great for kids as none are too long.) Haven't seen any beavers yet but seeing the trees they chew-up and the damns they make is pretty sweet. Be sure to watch for Lizards here too. Cool spot.
Such a great little trail system! Miles of trails, up and down hills, by streams and marshes. Dog friendly but keep hunting season in mind.
Trail conditions & character
“Lightly trafficked, saw one person with a dog on a leash.”
“Took the trail out to the point over the frozen lake the back to hike the blue trail to the yellow loop and back out.”
