Confirmed from Pace Bend Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Pace Bend Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (36 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Rangers are friendly and helpful, and keep the park exceptionally clean and organized.”

This is a rocky, technical trail that is so much fun to ride. I am a novice rider, so I had to walk obstacles that more accomplished riders would be able to get over. Even with all the walking, I recommend this trail for riding. Parking at the trailhead was more than sufficient for the day I went.

This was a convenient place to park to get on the hiking trails. There were a few other cars when I arrived around 9:00am. When I got back to my car, it was mid afternoon and my car was the only one left. This really speaks to how hiking the trail felt nicely isolated.

Pace Bend Park is a fabulous location for swimming, camping, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, and just about any outdoor activity. Groups meet weekly for cycling and running, and you can find them online with ease. Rangers are friendly and helpful, and keep the park exceptionally clean and organized.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.

  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
