Confirmed from Pacific Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Pacific Preserve
“Enjoyed the wildlife and beautiful wild flowers nice breeze from creek several rock benches free not many people”
“Short trail but not usually busy so it’s a peaceful little walk”
Has a trail that turns into mulch that turns into a grassy trail. Not sure how far it goes, but it was a beautiful walk in the city! Get a load of those flowers, hey? 😁😄
I love walking at Pacific Preserve! It’s much more naturalistic than most parks in the area, which makes sense since it’s more of a wildlife habitat that we can visit.
A breath of fresh air in the big city of Omaha, the Pacific Preserve is located right off of Pacific street, almost unknown to the trained eye. I discovered this slice of paradise while looking for an afternoon walking spot, and was encapsulated by what was there.
A secluded gem where a person can enjoy a peaceful walk. Don't tell anyone else about it.
Trail conditions & character
“A nice trail with plenty of spots to sit and soak in the sun, with views of the Papillion Creek as well as the railroad that goes right along side the Preserve.”
“Short trail but not usually busy so it’s a peaceful little walk”
“Grass as green as money, trees as solid as concrete, and a getaway that doesn’t cost thousands, but just a short car ride.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
