Confirmed from Pea Ridge National Military Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“We went during the week and it was very quiet.”

Very nice park. We went during the week and it was very quiet. They had a nice picnic area available as well. The visitor center was great. They had a nice theater with a 20 minute documentary about the battle. You can take the loop around the battlefield and follow the waypoints and read about the different areas.

7 mile circular driving tour with about 10 rest stop points of interest and hiking paths. Elk Ridge Tavern House with pit toilets is the only restroom on the drive. Website with Ranger video explaining the significance and history of each stop is available on your cell phone via a website.

Small 6 mile self-drive loop tour through the battlefield area complete with plenty of historical snippets about each of the featured areas. Nice visitor center/museum, it takes about an hour at a leisurely pace to complete.

★★★★★ — Charlie , Jun 2024

I had a great experience visiting Pea Ridge National Military Park. The visitor center museum was clean, well organized, and really interesting. They show a short film several times a day that gives a great overview of the battle before you head out to explore the park. The exhibits were particularly well done.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
