Confirmed from Pecan Grove Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Big fenced playground to keep kiddos safe in one spot. More than 1 playground so plenty of space for kids to run around. Huge covered pavilion outside the playground near the big restrooms which were very clean when I went. Picnic tables inside and outside the playground. Looped walking trail around the playground.

I recently visited Pitts Park, and it was a delightful experience overall. The park is beautifully maintained with lush green spaces, and plenty of scenic spots to relax and enjoy nature. The walking path offers lovely views and are great for a leisurely stroll.

Love this park, and love the neighborhood. It is vibrant, and thriving with people of all ages. Many people bring their dogs with them to get exercise. The park is large enough that several well trained dogs can have an acre or two to themselves to just run, or roam.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 9 mentions

“This little park is perfect for the surrounding families because there is a baseball, soccer and just a big grass field to enjoy and even bring your dog to join in on the fun.”

Plan your run at Pecan Grove Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
