Confirmed from Pehkokia Woods - ACRES Land Trust's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Wooded park featuring numerous trails, plus ponds where deer are often spotted.
What runners say about Pehkokia Woods - ACRES Land Trust
“Saw several deer and other animals, it was very calming and beautiful, a nice little reset.”
Born and raised in Huntington, never knew this place was here. It's a nice little trail with a couple of creeks and ponds on the property. My watch calculated it as .99 miles from the parking lot, around the loop, and back to the parking lot.
Took a nice late afternoon walk in Pehkokia Woods after a heavy rain the day before. The trail was in great shape, no muddy spots. Saw several deer and other animals, it was very calming and beautiful, a nice little reset.
Really great park with wide main trails and several narrower side trails. Mostly flat with one elevation change. We noticed lots of squirrels and chipmunks and a beautiful crane in the back lake. Trail starts off with rocks for the first few feet but then levels off to just dirt and then later mulch.
The trails are a big circle with a few inclines and plenty of wildlife ,I seen 4 deer while on the north west side of the trail.fun for the beginner or a short hike.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
