Confirmed from Perry Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Trail, popular for hiking and bridge crossings, that leads to a creek and waterfall, with picnic benches and grills.

What runners say about Perry Creek Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (64 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“Beautiful location, nice trails though they are narrow, steep and some sides have caved in.”

Beautiful hidden treasure! The trail has been damaged - looks like the wooden bridge that was there 9 months ago has been washed off its footings and is no longer usable to cross. But the metal cable swinging bridge is still good.

★★★★☆ — Andrew , May 2022

A beautiful area to escape to. The trails are narrow but still easily to access. A short distance hike suitable for most ages. Decent parking and built-in grills close to the black river. Definitely recommended for last minute.

★★★★☆ — Amanda , Oct 2022

Perry Creek is a beautiful park and I t’s right off of the Black River. It has a boat dock with some parking spaces for trucks and boat trailers. It also is a great spot to put kayaks into the river. The park itself is spacious with lots of room for activities.

★★★★★ — Bs , Oct 2022

This place is one of the coolest lesser known spots in Wisconsin! It’s basically a mini gorge. It was two small waterfalls, an amazing rope suspension bridge, amber colored water, and very cool outcrops and rock walls linings the creek! The trail is probably less than a mile.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
