Confirmed from Prairie Pathway (1.5 miles) Trailhead (North) & Butterfly Gardens' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Prairie Pathway (1.5 miles) Trailhead (North) & Butterfly Gardens
“Nice running / walking trails, quiet neighborhood, options for asphalt or gravel trails, simply beautiful Michigan!”
A very nice trail system in Rouge park. The wildflowers change with the seasons. The song birds are very abundant during the spring and summer.
If you are looking for a super natural walk—only about a mile and a half or so—this is the place! Plenty of street side parking on Outer Drive. It’s hard to believe you’re in the city when you’re looking out at the field of black-eyed susans!

- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
