We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Pumpkin rock hike yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“A fun and easy hike, there are lots of painted rocks mixed in with the beautiful scenery.”

It’s a 20 minutes short hike, quite windy, and easy hike. View is great and bunch of rock with graffiti are interesting. Good trail for after work. By the way, the horse friendly community is new to me. I can see few people riding their lovely horse all the time.

A fun and easy hike, there are lots of painted rocks mixed in with the beautiful scenery. Also if you like mountain biking, there are multiple trails in the hills. They seem like intermediate level to me.

This is a nice quick hike. Easy enough for all ages. It was interesting seeing all the graffiti on other rocks. I wonder what came first. The views are great. There’s no shade you are definitely out in the open so plan accordingly. I would do this hike again for sure. I recommend it.

It's a great, fairly short, hike. It has just enough ups and downs to get the heart going a bit without being difficult. Because it is a bit sandy, it can get a little slick in places when coming back down. Nothing treacherous, but it's a good idea to be mindful.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
