Confirmed from Putnam Hill Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
18.5 acres of grassy, hilltop parkland offering a playground & panoramic views of the city.
What runners say about Putnam Hill Park
“The view of the city looks great but the playground is not well maintained.”
“A nice place in a bit of a rough part of town, but fun, it has a huge metal slide and a great view of Zanesvillle.”
“but I think it's a nice peaceful interesting place.”
Nice view from the overlook of the Zanesville Downtown area. They also have basketball, shelter house, playground, and giant downhill sliding board. The trails around the cliff area are protected by fence for safety.
very nice overlook park. overlooks the whole city not only the y bridge. but I think it's a nice peaceful interesting place. I ride a bicycle to get to the places in the city and there's a few hills to get to this place but so far I can make them not bad for an old man
Waiting for a friend to get off work. Was a cool nice day so went for a walk with my furry companion. She loved the run I loved the view and the walk
A nice place to bring kids and let them run and explore. A nice view of the "Y" bridge. They just recently redid the area. Its more up to date. More clean.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
