Confirmed from Putnam's Point's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Semi-wild landscape consisting of brushland & forest habitats, home to many seabirds.
What runners say about Putnam's Point
“Although it has been under construction, for better handicap sidewalks, it is a beautiful place for a visit ❤”
“Great place to enjoy some quiet time and bird watch.”
Great new bronze statue and crushed granite trail added recently. The water is up this year and the water foul are lovin' it.
We arrived at Putnam point which sits on Upper Klamath lake on a beautiful fall morning. We saw lots of birds, waterfowl and pelicans there on the water and flying around. The fall colors were vibrant on all the trees and bushes that surrounded the lake.
Wildlife refuge and conservation area. Great for birding. This little park has been upgraded within the past year, and now sports a wonderful bronze statue from a famous local artist. Some shade, benches, nice view of the lower lake area.
Went at dusk and saw a large array of long necked / legged water birds including tons pelicans. There were loads of deer, many got rather close. We even saw a raccoon on the shore. During the day there would be little to no shade.
