Confirmed from Quail Springs Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
3-mi point-to-point trail along moderately strenuous terrain through unique desert rock formations.
What runners say about Quail Springs Trail
Super fun place close to the park entrance to play on rocks and hike across the desert. Rocks in distance to west from parking lot is a great hike over a sand berm and through a wash. Remote feeling, and excellent place to explore
amazing rock features for climbing, scrambling and bouldering. easy to get off trail to explore but easy to find your way back. very pick your own adventure with easy to hard options.
Nice, quick, sandy trail. We stopped for star gazing and the trail was very easy. The rock formation was fun climbing. I would rate this 3-4 stars. The star gazing was super enjoyable, there is a little bit of light pollution coming from over the mountains though.
Fun hike. Gets very hot very quickly though. Saw quite a few birds, desert chipmunks, and jack rabbits on this one. Quail Springs parking lot is popular for night photography as well. That was probably the most fun part!
