Confirmed from Red Rock Canyon State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
27,000-acre park with cliffs, buttes & canyons popular for hiking, camping & horseback riding.
What runners say about Red Rock Canyon State Park
“I recently visited Red Rock Canyon State Park in California and was blown away by the stunning red hills that dominate the landscape.”
Amazing geology, beautiful painted desert! You can drive and park right next to the rock formations, so family members who can't really hike will enjoy this spot. It's part of my favorite day-trip loop with family and friends.
On Memorial weekend, we're decided to explore California sceneries, took a long drive from Fremont to Red Rock Canyon State Park. The Red Cliffs Nature Trail and the Hagen Nature Trail. These sceneries were so beautiful. We visited in the afternoon and in the morning to see with both morning light and afternoon light.
I recently visited Red Rock Canyon State Park in California and was blown away by the stunning red hills that dominate the landscape. The colors are so rich and vibrant, it's truly a unique sight to see.
This place is surreal with limestone formations created by rain & wind. It is stunning with red and white sediment layers. You’ve never heard a place so quiet. Plenty of campsites with bathrooms and water. The view is stunning & you have to hike a bit to see even more of the park. Joshua trees thrive here.

The practical stuff
