Confirmed from Red-tail Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve with a trail offering opportunities for hiking, wildlife watching, and photography.
What runners say about Red-tail Nature Preserve
“Very quiet clean and fun to walk trails and cardinal trail is attached so you can walk red-tail then go right onto cardinal greenways.”
RedTail is a great land trust! Keep it up! This particular site has a small parking lot and a short loop trail. Nothing particularly noteworthy, other than protected land is a wonderful thing. Wide variety of the more typical birds.
Former cropland remade as a prairie and woodland, with a 1/3 mile loop trail connecting to the Cardinal Greenway and Prairie Creek Reservoir trails. Great hiking!
Nice place to ride bikes, hike, walk or just spend some time in nature and connects to the cardinal Greenway and multi use path around the reservoir.
Sunny day hike with the family. Take your time really look around at all the beauty around you.
