Confirmed from Ridge Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Ridge Trail
“The landscape was simple and stunning, with open grass fields, and green and smooth rolling hills in the near background.”
Nice hike to both Alpine lake and the horse shoe lake. Best 360 degre view point at the Borell hill spot. Be there early morning.
Done at the end of April, between 4 and 7 pm. The path was full of different varieties of flowers. On the website is possible to download a guide to identify the names of most of them. The landscape was simple and stunning, with open grass fields, and green and smooth rolling hills in the near background.
It's hard to beat the views of this trail. At the top of the Borel Hill you can get a 360 degree view of all the bay area from east bay to south, the cloud-covered Pacific, and San Francisco. Flowers can be seen in late winter and early spring.
Beautiful sights, good hiking and not a lot of people. A mix of Russian ridge trail and Borell Hill. The trail leads to the hill. The app only gives me one choice.
