Confirmed from Rifle Gap State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Rifle Gap State Park
“My new fav camping spot This place is quiet clean beautiful Saw an eagle with a mom and baby Lots of deer Waterfalls, caves Town super close Loved it”
“The road was extremely rough, however our four-wheel drive Sprinter 170 wheelbase van made it up and we found a beautiful campsite with a view of the reservoir and mountains below.”
This place is absolutely incredible! The cleanliness and impeccable maintenance of the sites, along with the convenience of full hook-ups, make it a top-notch destination. The spaciousness of each site ensures ample privacy, allowing you to fully unwind. The stunning view adds another layer of beauty to the experience.
Nice clean park, we stay on the lower loop with hot showers and flush toilets. Campsites spacious, paved with a covered shelter and fire pit. Don’t miss Rifle Falls SP just a few miles north. Hard working host. And frequent uniformed rangers visit. The town of Rifle is a few minutes away and has all you need.
Varied campgrounds from no utilities to full hookups. Water was very low this year, unfortunately, but a gorgeous reservoir and some trails. Close to a lot of activities. Got really windy every day around 1pm. Bring good stakes not the skinny ones that came with your Walmart tent, or else you wont have it anymore.
Great park. Super helpful staff. We reserved a spot up on the hill, but wanted to be closer to the lake. Called the front office and they were more than happy to move us closer to the lake. The camp spot was immaculate and raked like a Japanese garden. Will definitely return!
