Confirmed from River Ranch County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🪧 well-marked 3 mentions

“Did some trail running and everything was really well marked and the trails were super clean.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“This park is a great way to spend a quiet hike or a family afternoon.”

The long awaited opening of River Ranch County Park did not disappoint. It is a well thought out plan for the park that took so long. Great natural trails for my horse’s feet to step on rather than other parks that have harder surfaces that hurt his feet.

What a wonderful place River Ranch County Park is. This new-ish addition to the Williamson County Parks system is fantastic. This park is ranch land returned back to nature and a beautifully maintained park. It has over 20 miles of trails for easy hiking, trail running, and equestrian activity.

I love this park! Beautifully designed with lots of nice walking trails. The RV campsites are exceptionally well maintained. The facilities are all very clean and well kept. The Interpretive Center has events and was so nice to visit.

★★★★★ — Elizabeth , Apr 2025

Beautiful park with many trails to go through. Some trails have plenty vegetation and others are flat and prairie like. I found some vegetables and fruit growing along the trails, that was cool! Restrooms are accessible/clean and near all trails. Definitely watch your step (animal poop) in many trails.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
