Confirmed from Riverbottom Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Riverbottom Park
Came here with the family, the kids loved it. I thought it was cool. There really isn’t any proper trail but it’s cool to just explore and get a little walk in. San Joaquin River is pretty cool. Check it out.
Overall a cool place. Just wish there wasn't so much broken glass around, as I have a 3 year old. We did have fun watching the sunset and throwing rocks in the water. It is very easily accessable and there is a cool trail that leads to it from around Herndon and Polk area.
This is one of my favorite places to visit and watch the sunset. I enjoy walking across the bridge and seeing the beautiful view of the river. It's also a nice hike down to the river on the Madera side
We took a short walk along the trail under the bridge close to the train tracks. It was a brisk cool breeze. Nobody else was on the trail. Didn't walk towards the water. But the scenery is beautiful. Go early enough to see the wildlife and birds that are around. Along with the bunny rabbits.
Trail conditions & character
“The trail is hard pan at first but becomes asphalt pathway, then it becomes concrete.”
“Restrooms: Riverside Municipal Golf Course is to the west of the park, bordered by the train tracks and the San Joaquin River.”
